FAQ
WA Cricket Foundation Questions
The WA Cricket Foundation aims to enrich, support and inspire our community. We raise funds to deliver social outcomes through cricket. We are currently focused on two areas of funding, creating a community and sporting hub at the WACA Ground and to drive diversity and inclusion in cricket. We have already secured $95 million of the $115 million WACA Ground Improvement Project and are continuing to raise funds for the remainder through our WA Cricket Foundation.
All funds raised through the Pledge a Picket Campaign will go towards creating a sustainable community and sporting hub with cricket at its heart. This includes creating a Ground that is inclusive of the whole community with sensory rooms, an all-abilities playground, and a community health club. It will also secure the future of cricket in WA and ensuring that the heritage and proud history of the WACA Ground is celebrated.
Player Questions
All players who have played for WA will be honoured with a picket at the WACA Ground. You have the option to have your name feature on the same picket as a current or former WA State Player, a West Aussie who has played for Australia or a WA Cricket Legend. This includes all male and female players who have made their debut for Western Australia across all formats of the game. It does not include players who have only made their debut for the Perth Scorchers in the BBL or WBBL.
You have the option for your name to feature on the same picket as a current or former West Aussie player.
Tier 1 – Your Name – $1,000
Tier 2 – Your Name + WA State Player – $2,000
Tier 3 – Your Name + West Aussie who has played for Australia – $6,000
Tier 4 – Your Name + WA Cricket Legend – $11,000
Each Tier is worth a different value. All funds raised will assist in funding initiatives that transform the WACA Ground into a community hub with cricket at its heart.
Players were originally assigned to their Tiers in 2020. However. players’ Tiers have been updated on an ongoing basis as they have gone on to debut for WA, Australia or are inducted as a WA Legend. This will continue to take place for the duration of the Pledge a Picket Campaign. Once a player has been purchased within a Tier at a certain cost, that price has been locked in. Donors will not be asked to provide additional funds.
Yes. Players were contacted during the initial phase of developing the Pledge a Picket campaign. They were also the first group of stakeholders contacted once the Pledge a Picket campaign was ready to go live.
You are only able to have your name featured on the same picket as current and former WA players. If the player you would like to be featured alongside has never played for WA they will not be included in the list of available players.
Once a player’s picket has been purchased, they are no longer available. We encourage you to secure your name alongside your favourite player as soon as possible to avoid disappointment.
